Could I be banned at the peer-to-peer network level?

Hello! We collect data from one site, ~ 6 million requests per day.

Collected in 1000 streams - banned in less than 12 hours. Collected in 200 streams - banned in a couple of weeks.

Question: could I have been banned in the peer-to-peer network, and not the site itself? If traceroute breaks just before pinging the peer-to-peer network itself?
