Corrupt Illustrator files. An unreadable file with an error has recently appeared, what should I do?
Corrupted Illustrator files
I have 3 workstations in my office all using Illustrator CS2, recently got an unreadable error file. Not in all files, it happens quite rarely. The error message when I try to open a saved file (.ai or .eps) says "The file is corrupted and cannot be restored". I can open PDFs of the same file within Illustrator, but not the .ai or .eps file. I've tried Adobe's way of "placing" the original file into a new file, but to no avail. I recently installed an Extensis Fusion suitcase and I'm starting to think that might be the culprit. The fact is that some damaged files give an error and some do not. Does anyone know why this is happening?
