Core i7 gen7 + Windows 2012R2 worth it?
Friends, all welcome!
In general, I ran into a story about "unsupported hardware" in the form of Core i7 gen7 + Windows 2012R2. This machine was rented from the well-known He...ner as a Hyper-V host, it is clear that the Core i7 is not kosher and Xeon is needed, but the desires do not always coincide with the possibilities.
In short, the question is, should we ignore the history of hardware incompatibility and continue using the host under Hyper-v 2012 r2 using hacks to get updates, or should we still switch to a 2016 server?
If I understood correctly, besides the marketing bullshit, all this pandemonium with the "incompatibility" of the processor and Windows 2012 does not have any real impact on performance?
