How to remove Hyper-V checkpoints?

So given: Win Server 2016 Std
Hyper-V machine running
By default, the machine supports 50 checkpoints, and new ones will not be created until the old ones are deleted.
By subject:
https://docs.microsoft.com/ru-ru/virtualization/hy...
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ru-RU/...
Question for connoisseurs:
1. For deletion of control it is necessary to stop VM? Otherwise, I don’t have a menu item to delete at checkpoint
2. When deleting checkpoints (for example, via PS, won’t my combat system crash? It’s scary for Eksch)
3. How to remove control points in the safest way so as not to drop the VM? And then I was very confused by the wording on the technet: "Checkpoints are stored as AVHDX files in the same location as the VHDX files for the virtual machine. When deleting the Hyper-V checkpoint, for convenience, combines AVHDX and VHDX files. After When the AVHDX file of this checkpoint is completed, it will be deleted from the file system."
Combining files is a good thing, as long as something doesn't go wrong))
4. What happens if I uncheck the use checkpoints box without stopping the VM, are they just deleted? Will the combat system stay the same?

According to point 4 - you can do it live, all 50 control points will begin to merge into one. Time and reliability will depend only on the disks. You can do it without stopping, but the speed of access to mailboxes will drop sharply. If there are other virtual machines on this machine, their response time will also decrease.
I would not do this, at least without backups for sure.
