Copyright only maintainer'a project in open source is this normal?

Tell me, how is it customary (and is it customary) to indicate the authorship of the code in open source, including on Git Hub?
In one of the open source Git Hub projects, each file contains Copyright @ Vasya Pupkin (and then the text of the APL2 license).
Vasya Pupkin is one of the project maintainers.
When I make a pull request for a new file, specifying:

Copyright 2015 Myself
and further text Apache License, Version 2.0 (similar to other project files), they are politely asked to remove the "personal license" from the file.
The readme of the project states that the project uses APL2.

Now many "big" projects are written by Copyright Vasily and other contributors, or simply Copyright 2015 This Project's contributors. This can be proposed as a separate commit, because rightly so.
