Convert LAN to WAN?
Greetings.
Finally, I decided to change the old-fashioned and asynchronous ADSL to fiber. The problem is that there are 4 computers, and only one wire. At the moment, the Asus WL-600g ADSL router is helping out . But after a new provider is connected, the DSL functions will become useless. So: is it possible to somehow use one of the Lan ports as a WAN interface? I do not want to buy a new router for obvious reasons. Only one LAN is actually used, the rest of the computers are connected via Wi-Fi.
I don’t want to experiment with DD-WRT and other firmware, but if there are no other options, I’ll have to. In this case, I would like links and mana.
I'm looking for expert advice :)

Do not even hesitate - install OpenWRT. Throw that port in a separate vlan and that's it.
It can be much easier.
It all depends on what kind of provider you have. If he has PPTP, L2TP, PPPoE authorization - not an option. But if there is none, as on online, then you can do this:
zyxel.ru/kb/1714
Sell a router, buy a wi-fi card in the same wired machine, wire the provider into it, raise a hotspot on it and distribute the Internet to other devices.
True, the server is always on.
And what does DD-WRT not suit you, you can be curious?
If for a beeline, then it would be wiser to get rid of this router and take something guaranteed to be compatible with their wonderful l2tp, for example, TP-LINK TL-WR842ND seems to be quite a nice piece of iron. By the way, as practice shows, DD-WRT with a beeline works poorly / does not work at all / cuts speed. Most recently, I had to roll back from it to the stock firmware in connection with the transition to the Iblaine Internet.
