Consultant plus and external server, did anyone deal?

Hi, can anyone tell me. There is an external server - in the office, QNAP, the files of the network purchased consultant plus hang on it, and in order not to download each patch and updates to a portable disk (connected from a PC), the question arose of implementing the storage and updating of the consultant + on an external server, and an exe with prescribed paths to the disk, use it on a PC. Will such a bundle work, and what pitfalls can we find during implementation? If there is a link to the implementation option - I will be grateful

It will work, respectively, the comment above - vpn and will probably open longer. Now the consultant has an online version, it may be easier to switch to it.

It will work, but even on a 100Mbps (ping 11ms) channel it is rather slow.
PS It is possible that such use will violate the license agreement.
