Faced such problem - there is an HP procurve 2510-24 (j9019b) switch. You need to connect to it via COM port (reset to factory settings, where IP is not configured). When connecting via Windows (putty, hyperterminal) and xubuntu (minicom, kermit), it produces strange glitches, apparently related to the encoding, but changing the encoding to different options does not help, only the characters change. Tell me, in which direction to dig?
