Connecting to a CentOS VM with Samba from Windows 8
There is a virtual machine. It has CentOS 6.3 and Samba installed.
Samba is configured.
When I try to connect to it from Windows, I get an error stating that such a host simply does not exist.
Surprisingly, but somehow a long time ago I set it up with the help of Google and some mother. And the problem was on the Windows side. Specifically, in local policies -> security settings.
I've been trying to repeat this trick for four hours now, but I can't.
Can you please tell me what needs to be changed in these policies?

Most likely you have allowed something on the topic of connecting to insecure or old SMB servers, like:
- NTLM Authentication Protocol (v1) or older
- SMB Protocol or older
1. try to connect via IP
2. enable password-free anonymous access on Windows in the network access settings, try to hook it from samba.
3. Set up the same workgroup on Windows and Samba.
4. on Windows and on samba, create at least one anonymous or password, but visible share - then they will be correctly viewed by netbios - if there are a lot of computers in one workgroup and there are not a single share (not counting system ones) - an error will occur .
