If there is nothing needed on the disk, then during installation there is a function to completely erase everything from the disk, and it doesn’t matter, but it’s better to first remove the Kali, it seems to me, it’s not up to me to decide, there’s just more trouble if you put 2 at the same time, and then one wash out of them. If there is nothing you need on the disk, then format it, but in general I advise you to make a bootable flash drive with Kali, although it is even easier to install all packages on Ubuntu.
