Connecting 4 pin to 8 pin cpu power connector?
Hello. I have a question. There is a GIGABYTE GA-AB350M-DS3H V2 board, it has a 2200G processor. The board has 8 pins for powering the processor. My PSU only has 4 pins for power. In general, I connected, everything works. The question is that there are experiences in this regard. Will 4 pins work instead of 8 without negative consequences?

I worked like that for half a year, I flew normally.
If the load does not turn off, then there will be no problems.
If you don’t drive, then 4 pins should be enough with an adequate cable thickness. 2200G consumes approximately 85W through this connector. If the PSU is not quite China, then there will be no problems. The second set of 4pins is needed to suck even more 12v from the PSU without burning the wires. Adapters usually do not have a physical meaning, because. inside all incoming 12v are connected together
You take such an adapter:
Connect everything correctly (you use the connectors from the power supply that are designed for an old type hard drive) and stop worrying.
PS:
What do you think - why are there 2 pieces of Molex?
For those who taught physics at school, the answer is obvious.
