Composer adds packages with version 9999999-dev. What does it mean?

Upgraded composer to version 2, and now when requiring packages in composer.json, "some-vendor/package": "9999999-dev" appears. There was nothing like this before the upgrade. Tell me, what are these innovations, and how to return to normal version numbers?

I don’t know about composer, but, for example, in some modified android applications, a huge version (999999, 1000000) is prescribed so that they do not update to the original version (some 32.50 will be less than 99999 and will not be updated). I can assume the same in relation to your package
