Comments in CMS Drupal?

Guys, did anyone run into an interesting article, a manual, a tutorial on theming comments in Drupal?
A variety of settings, hide various unnecessary links, such as "Permalink", display only "Next" and "Number of comments" in the teaser, remove the "Subject" in the comment creation form, via css or programmatically
?! Drupal, but I hate the comment system!!!

Theming comments is not fundamentally different from theming nodes or menus. Drupal code is very well documented. You need minimal knowledge of the language and an understanding of how the hook system works to do anything with the appearance of comments and whistles around them.
