College or university?

Good day to all who opened this issue. Assessing my strengths, I can enter the university as a programmer only on a paid basis or for free, but in college. My friends and teachers tell me, of course, go to university, they say, higher education and knowledge are better, but the problem is that if I go to study at the university, it will be a very strong financial burden on my parents. How to act in this situation?

Soooo. It's January outside.
If you are talking about an admission that will be in six months, stop writing stupid questions and sit down at your textbooks. For such a lot of time, you can learn to pass any exam.
As for knowledge: you probably think that in colleges or universities you will be "given" some knowledge, but the truth is that in all cases you will have to study on your own, and if you decide to become a programmer, then you will have to study on your own and all your life .
So, from this side, that the university, that the college is about the same thing.
However, I don't think you should go to college. Guys get into colleges, technical schools and schools, and for the most part, they are not imprisoned for acquiring some kind of knowledge and building a career (although, of course, there are some). And with this contingent of blockheads you will have to be within the same walls in the next few years. For a young person, especially one who is influenced by society, this is not the best choice.

To put it mildly, this is a very difficult question. Each will have its own correct answer. For a good college, this is just the institution where working progers are trained. But in reality, our knowledge at the university is so-so, and there is absolutely the bottom, but at the university there will be a lot of acquaintances, and examples to follow. But pay for dating who may or may not? well, like that. Depending on how much money, of course.
PS I can’t even imagine what kind of bottom you need to be in order not to enter the budget. Even Moscow University is easy to get into, and even in the provinces there is definitely a place with a super low competition
