why no one recommends renting web hosting for a couple of bucks a month, you can link a domain there and create the required number of mail accounts .

Actually, it's all sad.
Only Office365 can fully replace Google. And that is, there are cases when Google is "cooler".
But even then, in the current realities, something in the Russian Federation would be necessary, the atoms can be taken away.
As I understand it, bitrix24 can also be written as a competitor, there all the functionality is written on a candy wrapper, but has not yet been tested.
Yandex and Mail.ru do not know how to work normally with different domains on the account, which, for example, is critical for me.

there are domain1.ru and domain2.ru domains
in Google, these are independent entities, you can create both [email protected] and [email protected]
and groups can be [email protected] and [email protected]
And in Yandex and mail - it's all impossible.
And it turns out that user1 will have the login [email protected], and the second domain will always be an alias.
It's even worse with groups - [email protected] and [email protected] are the same mailbox. Although inside I would like to see different people.

I have 3 domains:
1. Google (personal/family)
has the most convenient interface (IMHO), works fast, has all the necessary functions.
Used mail and storage of photos and all sorts of files.
Google accounts are registered on the boxes (- migrating is not an option, we will wait for Google to leave free use for 10 users. If not, you will have to pay.
2. on Yandex (working, company mail),
Used in the free version - only mail for 20- 30 users
Mail interface is not very good, overloaded with ads, but convenient admin panel both old and new
3. Zoho (personal/work), free
The interface is terrible (again IMHO), very slow, crookedly displays emails.
With Zoho I want to move to iCloud +, it seems to look nicer.
