Closing the "archive in place" of the box using the client?

Good afternoon.
There is Exchange 2013. The following storage policy is configured on it: only letters for the last 7 days are stored on the client. Everything else is archived in the "Archive in place"
Accordingly, the user in Outlook (we use Outlook 2016. Office professional plus edition) displays 2 mailboxes. Directly box and archive.
Is it possible to close the archive and then open it using Outlook without deleting the account in the client configuration?

@akelsey

The question is not very clear, if the situation had been described it would have been easier.
And so, you need to create a local PST file and copy the data from the In-Place archive there.
