Choosing a linux distribution for a specific laptop?

We bought HP 15-bs651ur laptops for work, if possible we wanted to use some simple OS like ubuntu / kubunt on them, but we ran into a problem - the Wi-Fi module does not work (as I understand it, there is no firewood, or the kernel is old and does not support these modules - not strong in linux) rolled 18.04 in the hope that a fresh OS will start the
module - figwam just this solution:

Обновленный драйвер.не пробовали?
https://github.com/FreedomBen/rtl8188ce-linux-driver
Предварительно удалите старый драйвер и настройки. Распакуйте driver-master.zip и запустите ./install.sh.
Удачи.

but this method did not work either,
maybe there is some distribution in which everything will work out of the box?

You need to start with lspciroot. Look for a line like Network controller . After that, try to find drivers for a specific controller on Google (or drop the output here). By the way, what OS are you on?

Personal advice to you if you really need wifi and want maximum simplicity without hemorrhoids, and especially after updates. Just buy a pack of supported modules, it will be cheaper and hassle-free everywhere, incl. the future.

1. Install the linux-firmware package.
2. Reboot.
3. Give the output of the lspci
command . This map should work. According to the link you gave above, only a slightly modified driver that allows you to increase the power of the transceiver and fixes minor bugs.
