Choosing a laptop for $1200?

I'm thinking about buying a new laptop for a large list of tasks: programming, adobe and mb some not very demanding games.
I need a laptop for several years, $ 1200 on hand.
conditions: good CPU, MB video card, RAM not less than 8, and a nice design (so that it doesn’t glow from all the cracks)
there are several options for
xiaomi mi notebook pro 15.6
1) (2019) i7 8550U, 16gb, 512ssd, mx250 2gb
2) (2018 )i5 8250U, 8gb, 256ssd, gtx 1050 max-q 4gb
macbook air 2019 in min configuration,
if possible, advise something better. Thanks
Yes, I looked at other questions, but I found nothing interesting. I understand that it seems to me, but suddenly there is a person with experience who will advise a good workstation.

I support a macbook, but not an air, it’s just the worst thing you can take for such an amount, it’s better to have a 2017/18 firmware for the same price. On the other hand, depending on what you use, for example, from Adobe, it’s sometimes hard for me to work on MBP2018 in the maximum configuration even in full hd after, not to mention 4K (color / motion, etc.).
If Macos and autonomy are not needed, then mi is a good choice, there are acquaintances who are quite satisfied with them.
