Choosing a hard drive for Zalman VE200

Good day,

Tell me the hard drive for Zalman VE200.

Interested in how the 7200rpm screws behave - whether they start from one USB.

Maybe someone will tell you specific 7200 models that work from one USB and have a capacity of about 500GB.

In principle, 5400 is also possible for statistics :)

There is such a situation that when connected via USB 2.0, the maximum speed will be at the level of 30 MB / s. That is, in principle, it does not matter what hard drive will be inside, since even 5400 have been providing such a speed for a very long time.
Therefore, I advise you to choose according to the reliability and duration of the guarantee. For a portable drive, this is much more necessary.

And you are very critical, what would be 7200? After all, they are at least 1.5 times more expensive ... Otherwise, I never had problems with the WD Scorpio Blue series.

Whether it will start from one USB, a lot depends on the motherboard. For example, Gigabyte has 3x USB Power Boost technology (extra power for USB devices).
