I guess that when there will be a lot of users, the mysql server can bend down.
And it is not clear how to make it so that the user can enter the name and he gets hints from the database and so that all this works quickly.

You need to use full text search tools. Sphinx, Elasticsearch. This is exactly their profile task - to instantly issue results in response to text queries.
