Choice: An all-in-one content site or a few but niche (in 2Q20-21)?

Hello!

At the moment I am running one site strictly adhering to one topic, by my standards I was able to achieve a lot: there are high positions both in Google and in Yandex. Since I write myself, and I understand many issues that I want to cover, the question has become: should I make a few more sites, but each with its own theme, or still take a chance and collect "everything in one" site?

The content is only text, I don’t have anything to download or watch a video and it’s unlikely to be. My topics can be different: either health, or website building, or articles about folk alcoholic drinks, and so on. In general, the essence, I think, is clear.

Personally, in my opinion, it is better to have several thematic sites, and it will be more convenient and interesting for a user who comes by request to visit articles on the same topic. But working with sites in the amount of, for example ... five, is a bit tiring, so to speak. One site with everything is more convenient for me, especially since I will have no problems with linking and normal navigation. There is only one problem - in the search results of Yandex (priority) and Google. As far as I remember, the depth of reading the resource also affects search results, and I think there will be problems with this on a hodgepodge site.

Does it make sense now, in 2020 (and 2021, of course) to create one general site, or is it better to sweat, but make several narrowly focused ones? Does anyone have such experience?
Thank you.

I do not recommend. To rank for different (by the semantic core) queries, the site needs to have a good trust. And judging by the description, you are a beginner + not ready to invest (if you write it yourself).

You can make one for promotion, and then separate it into different thematic ones, and then reconnect it, etc.

Do some niche ones.
In my experience, this is the best way to do it in the long run.

Several are better. A well-designed, topic-rich semantic core is appreciated by search engines
