Chat. Ability to share data via Wifi?

Found on youtube how to create a chat using bluetooth.
Is it possible to use wifi for data exchange (Chat)?
An approximate implementation is as follows:
Let's say one device sends RequestCode = 1, the other device also sends RequestCode = 1. If the RequestCode matches, they find each other and transmit some data, after which Bluetooth / Wifi is turned off.
Maybe there are links to a similar implementation, I think not one of them.
