Changing the SSH port - how to restore access?

Hello.
There was port 22 on the VPS ssh, of course, 50-100 "curious" climbed there per day.
Changed the port in the sshd_config file to another one. Now the server is not reachable by either 22 or *changed_port*.
What to do? Reboot did, did not help.

There are no "access" buttons in the server control panel (ua-hosting.company), in the support they are sent to paid technical support (of course they have).

in general, I have VestaCP, changed the firewall rule with a new port - access appeared :)

Look in the control panel for access to the console or something similar.
At least "to execute a command on the server".
If you find something similar - then according to the circumstances - either fix it, restart or with a command like sed change the port, restart.
For the future - after reloading sshd, try to connect before you close the already open terminal.
Good luck.
