I recently set up a Google account for my niece on a new phone, where you can indicate that this is a child and link it to your account, then, for example, when installing applications, it asks for a password from my account, and a letter arrives in the mail with a message that such an application is installed. .. Family Link is not available in some countries (Russia?), and it is also worth mentioning that since Android9 Family Link cannot be deleted by resetting the phone, which is very convenient if you give the phone to an employee. It's cool. And being limited to 5 devices is not a problem because Family Link can be partly controlled from the Browser, where it's easy to switch between accounts.
