CentOS 6.4 & Adaptec 7Q Series Drivers - integrated or not?

I can’t find an answer to the question:
On the Adaptec website there are diskette images of drivers for the controller, it is written how to load them when installing the OS.
But I tried to install CentOS 6.4 without a driver disk and everything was fine, the disks were seen.

Question:
1) Does this mean that the driver disk is not needed?
2) There is a suspicion that the built-in drivers can only work for compatibility, but will not be able to provide the performance that native drivers from the Adaptec website provide. Built-in drivers can't work slower than original ones?

Bottom line: Even if CentOS sees the device, is it worth loading drivers on top?

There, in any case, drivers from the device manufacturer, centos will not write their own, in centos, that is, drivers for almost all production raid controllers.

If everything works, it's better to leave the built-in ones in the kernel.
