Can Zabbix write only changed values to its database?
There is monitoring of some critical values through Zabbix Agent. Criticality creates the need for a frequent polling interval, and the nature of the data is such that sometimes (rarely) changes in the desired number occur, and it is these changes that must be quickly responded to. However, such frequent polls famously litter the database with the same values, especially when there are a lot of such data elements. The question is, is there a mechanism in Zabbix that can track values often, but drop them into the database only if they differ from the previous value?
There is something similar mechanism, this is SNMP Trap, but I have an agent there, but he can’t do this, even active checks regularly write the same thing to the database.

You can try to compress a table with the same data:

So if the data is needed only for monitoring, just do not store it for a long time. Instead of the data itself, you can store trends - averaged hourly values.
Delete old data simply
on huyabbix there is an article on how to do it directly without housekeeping
