Can you suggest a light-scattering compound?

Task: Light-tight plate with through holes. LEDs are inserted into the holes. The thickness of the plate is greater than the length of the LEDs. It is necessary to fill the holes on the other side with the compound so that when the LED is lit, a uniformly luminous matte circle is seen. Has anyone experimented with this composition? Transparent epoxy comes to mind + some kind of diffuser filler.
