Can you recommend a topic/area for a thesis?

Defend your thesis in a year. But suddenly it turned out that the topic needs to be determined now.
I, for the most part, deal with websites, and I have a university with a bias in machine tool building. Therefore, teachers do not treat sites very well, they understand them little and cannot advise on any topic.
Perhaps someone from personal experience will be able to suggest what directions can be connected with the WEB.
PS I probably expressed myself inaccurately. My profession is a programmer. And we didn’t deal with machines at all. The department said that you can take any topic you like.
When I thought about the topic, I couldn’t think of anything better than “methods for protecting the transfer of information through AJAX technology” (for example). And I don’t really want to do a diploma on some abstract topic that I don’t understand and which is not interesting to me.

The sites have nothing to do with higher education.
If you want to combine higher education and the web - make a diploma in the profile of higher education (machine tools) and sharpen it for the web (regulation of machine tools by wifi \ android \ web muzzle \ sms).
But this is your personal desire, teachers are unlikely to appreciate and support (of course, everything may depend on a particular university / teacher / moon phase)
My personal opinion is that you do not need to unscrew the bolts with a hammer.
