Hello.
At home, a scheme of two routers is tormented (one has high-quality Wi-Fi, the other has DD-WRT + crutches + OpenVPN + IPv6) complementing each other, but I want to get an all-in-one solution without crutches. Fresh OpenWRT can do everything I need out of the box, but it cannot be installed on any of my routers...
Tell me a powerful enough piece of hardware that you can upload fresh OpenWRT to (it will be very good if it has a USB port).

I won’t help you with the recommendation of a specific piece of iron, but since you are thinking about changing the piece of iron, maybe look towards MikroTiks?
For example, RB951G-2HnD. For the house of this piece of iron is more than enough. The only thing that does not suit me in it is the lack of 5Ghz WiFi.

Look towards TL-WR1043ND v2.X (Atheros [email protected]), a rather popular piece of hardware. If desired, you can upload OpenWRT to Mikrotik.
