Can you give literature on how to implement a response request between different users?

Tell me (you can even give a link or a title of a book and a topic) how is the request system between two users implemented in ruby? Let's say a game of tic-tac-toe on rails between two or three users at the same time.
I can not set the request correctly in Google. Hoping for some good advice.
