Can Xamarin + C# be considered a worthy analogue of Java (in the Mob.Dev sphere)?

Subject. I have been familiar with C# for a long time and I don’t really want to switch from it to Java. The only thing I didn't like about this language was the lack of normal mobile development technology. applications. Xamarin in the old days was considered a raw and unusable product. Has this trend continued today?
Thank you.

Raw Xamarin was once.
It is better to read articles on Xamarin, try and decide for yourself, and not let others do it for you.

I'm personally waiting for Microsoft to finally bring in a visual UI designer. It's not lordly business to delve into xaml. But seriously, I would like to quickly assemble the UI by analogy with WPF without manual page layout. And since Xamarin is a good tool, as for me, Flutter is better with their dart.
