Can two versions of an app be published on Google Play?

Hey! Who will tell you whether it is possible now to publish two versions of the application, one trial version with reduced functionality and the other "pro version" with all the whistle-blowings. I know about subscriptions, I know in-app purchases - not an option.
I would appreciate the information!

published according to this scheme in July and August 2 paired applications.
just in case, the packages are named by the mask vendor.app.free and vendor.app.paid,
the names of the applications differ in additions to the general part of the PRO and Paid version
Do not forget to check that the paid version is purchased periodically.
Smart users pay. Downloading. They make a backup. Requesting a refund.
Receive. Restore from backup. And here in my case they are waiting for a bummer;)

Paid, free or for a special version of the platform (when something specific that is not supported by one distribution) is possible.
But already paid or free clones - with this, as a rule, problems arise.
