Can this WiFi router be used as an access point?

There is a TP-Link TD-8816 ADSL modem with 2 connectors: RJ-11 and LAN. Used for one PC. There was a need to use Wi-Fi. Can a router with WiFi (TP-Link TL-WR740N) be connected to the LAN connector of this modem using the LAN port? Thus, there will be two devices in the chain: an ADSL modem, and, via LAN, a WiFi router. And from the router there is already a PC connection and WiFi. Will there be any problems?
