Can the content of the snippet in the SERP differ from the content of the page itself?

Can you please tell me if the content of the snippet in the search results can differ from the content of the page itself? If, for example, the content has been updated, and the search robot has not had time to index the new content of the page?

Of course it can. That's what usually happens. Google will update faster than Yandex.
The snippet is formed mainly from meta tags: title, description, markup. Although often (especially Yandex) forms a description not from the description, but from the content of the page.
