Can the BIOS be based on the linux kernel?
In general, a couple of years ago I saw a computer.
There, the bios was generally cool screens, the mouse could do it, and so on. And most importantly there was a console.
And right now, something stuck me in and I thought, can linux perform BIOS functions?

Then it will be called not BIOS.
If you are talking about flashing a whole Linux in the BIOS, then yes - Android exists.
Graphics BIOSes have been around for 15 years.
And the console you saw is EFI

Coreboot itself is just a small program that initializes the hardware on the motherboard, then control is transferred to one of the payload programs:
...
the Linux kernel - can also act as a payload.
The Linux kernel will not fit into the BIOS chip (there is no more than 128 KB of emnip space).
