Can't see external HDD?
Since yesterday, the computer has stopped seeing an external 4 TB HDD, which I connect via USB.
Changed wires - does not help.
The computer either does not see the disk at all, or displays a message that it needs to be formatted. But I have a lot of information there, backups.
How to be? How to treat?
The disc was not subjected to mechanical stress, lay peacefully on the table all this time. Bought about two years ago

if the disk is inside sata (this is usually the case, but I have seen wd disks in which the usb controller was soldered on the board of the disk itself, another reason to be wary of this company's disks, at least external ones), then connect it directly to the motherboard
in case broken usb controller
ps if you care about data, I strongly recommend contacting specialists
