Can't login to X11 application. What?

Unable to open firefox-esr, startxfce4(I've only tried them so far). I looked on the Internet, they offered xmingand cygwin, but none of them work. He speaks:

[email protected]:~ $ startxfce4
/usr/bin/startxfce4: X server already running on display localhost:10.0
connect /tmp/.X11-unix/X0: No such file or directory
xrdb: Transport endpoint is not connected
xrdb: Can't open display 'localhost:10.0'
connect /tmp/.X11-unix/X0: No such file or directory
xfce4-session: Cannot open display: .
Type 'xfce4-session --help' for usage.

If I understand the situation correctly, which you obviously underdescribed, then you go from the vendomachine via ssh to a computer with Linux and try to run something X there.
In this case, you don't need startxfce4 - you already have a window manager (windows) running. To run something else, you must have a) set up X11 forwarding in putty (probably already the case, but not a fact); b) the X server is running on the machine from which you logged in. xming is a great, tested, working option.

Well, in general, forwarding a graphical interface via SSH is not the most trivial task.
Why not use tools like VNC for that?
