Can ntp be removed?

It seems to be how he sets the time on the server as accurate as possible.
But I noticed that it is not installed on all servers (at least lsof -i does not show it everywhere).
So is ntp needed or not? More precisely: can it be removed without degrading the quality of the server (VPS)?

On vps, the clock is often adjusted on the side of the hypervisor and thrown to vps, ntp is usually not needed here. This can be controlled by running the same ntpdate.
For the server, it is often enough to periodically run ntpdate if there are no applications that are critical to high time accuracy.

If what you are running on this server does not need a very precise time - feel free to delete it.
Who except you knows what you run on it?
Most of the software - does not need.
