Can I use Windows Server 2012 as my primary system?

I want to put on a laptop in 2012, Windows server 2012 and use it as a regular desktop system. Is it possible? Will it be installed on regular distributions as well?

If you are very patient, then yes, but it's better to buy a normal business class beech from your hands.
something like Lenovo X250

Surely you will not have sound on such a bunch, because. there are usually no drivers for sound for server operating systems.
Can you specify what it is for?

Perhaps, but there is one BUT.
2 GB of RAM is very little for such a system.
It is installed in the same way as regular distributions.
Turn on the roles - desktop experience (extended desktop experience, it seems) and get, in general, some kind of analogue of client Windows 7.

It makes no sense to use the server edition of Windows instead of the client one at all, only if you need its services (iis, wsus, dfs, ps, etc.)
Install Win 7 sp1 64bit msdn and you will have both speed and reliability
