Can I use non-QuickSpecs drives on the HPE MSA 1050?

I'm going to buy an HPE MSA 1050 to work with virtual machines, so the question arises, is it necessary to use native HP disks from QuickSpecs or can I take third-party disks? And is there any difference between Proliant drives for servers and for MSA (if any, from what) or are they interchangeable.

Let's figure it out. What are HPE drives? Where are they from? HPE has never made disks itself (well, maybe it did under the king of peas).
Those. in fact, its disks are third-party disks. Which ones specifically - the question is, you can google it, but who do we have there now wd yes seagate ?. Moreover, these disks are mechanically identical to models that are freely available on the market.
What exactly is the difference - a sticker, possibly a partially modified firmware, and even then I doubt it, the maximum that was corrected was to pretend to be HPE.
Will non-native discs work in this shelf? Does non-native memory work for you in HPE servers? Exactly. Only in ilo shows that it is not HPE, but do not care?
In total - if there is a budget, the office pays, you plan to take all sorts of care packs, etc. - it is possible to take and HPE. Otherwise, take what you want.

technically there are no problems when using other people's disks. the only question is the warranty and service for the piece of iron
