Can I use different sticks of RAM?

I bought a PC from my hands, there is one RAM bar in width that is noticeably larger. In terms of speed, both 1333 and 4Gb, Core i7 2600 percent.
Am I losing something in speed in this situation? How to check?

By width? Maybe in height? Physically? One plate is just Low-profile, that means. If the parameters are the same (frequency, size, preferably timings), then everything should be fine.
