Can I use an Ethernet switch as a repeater?

I have a line of 120-130 meters (cable 5e), the signal does not reach, the question is, if I put a switch in the middle of the line, will the problem be solved?

Yes, it will. Unless we are talking about PoE, of course.

If we are talking about PoE, judging by the tags, then there are special extension cords . Depending on the connected load, they can extend the line from 300 to 500 meters in segments of 100 meters.

Decide, what do you have at the ends of the line? I worked on old 3com switches under 150 meters (if the cook doesn’t lie to us, the installers of half a bay didn’t whistle during laying), I would first try farther devices.
