Can I use a library that has ended its support?

What to do when choosing a library. Is it possible to use libraries that are no longer supported by the developer, if they are stable and safe?
For example, I want to use DragSortListView, the latest version of this library is 0.6.1 (the release took place in March 2013)

Of course you can, some libraries have reached their final stage of development, when all the bugs are fixed, and the functionality provides most of the needs.
