Usually they don't do that. If the server is outdated, it is replaced with a new one. purely theoretically - they can be hardware compatible and interchangeable - but very often they are simply soldered on the motherboard and there is no way to change anything.

No. iLO is not just firmware - it's mostly a card in the server. It can be changed . If the new one gets up, of course. And if they give money. Because iLO 1 is just a very old server :)
