Can I somehow monetize my products in the form of cms?
Briefly about the essence of the issue, the studio develops and maintains state websites. institutions. In the process of work, a CMS was created that meets all the requirements for state websites. bodies, with all the necessary modules such as state. procurement, citizen issues, etc. A blogging engine for state leaders was also developed. bodies with integration into this CMS. This whole system is put to a certain circle of customers on the basis of participation in the tender, and this is our bread, so to speak.
The question is, if you try to sell this CMS to everyone who wants to buy it? Or in general, how can you make money on your product? Or is it better to put all this stuff on the studio website for free download and make a name?
The whole trouble is that we have very little experience in sales and we would like competent people to guide us on the right path, of which I think there are enough on the toaster.

1/ main money - support and expansion of functionality on order
2/ for example, a voting module in the form of a hierarchy of the structure of departments with a dynamic change in the indicator of positive and negative feedback, etc.
And what about the intellectual rights to your development?
If the exclusive right to the CMS belongs to you, and has not been transferred under an agreement to any of the government agencies, then you have the right to dispose of the product as you like - from selling licenses to your CMS to publishing its code in open source.
I think that first of all you should offer this happiness to such state offices. I don't know how it's all properly drawn up in terms of paperwork and "in what tone" to offer. But it seems to me that 2-3 state offices can be resold (including analogues in the CIS countries).
Yuri, if you are a developer, then you should not sell.
If you have entrepreneurial skills - build a sales department, hire project managers, etc.
Or build a dealer network and your tasks will be reduced only to rolling out new versions.
