Can I put Font Awesome files in a GPL project?

In the project, all the code of which is under the GPL, I want to use the Font Awesome font as icons, but the font files are distributed under the SIL OFL 1.1 license https://fontawesome.ru/license/ and Wikipedia says that this license is not compatible with the GPL

SIL OSF is designed to protect fonts from modifications. SIL OSF itself says that The License permits covered fonts to be freely embedded in documents under any terms, but it requires that fonts be packaged with software if they are sold.
When they say that SIL OSF is not GPL compatible, they most likely mean that you can't take a SIL OSF font, modify it, and release it under a GPL license. And vice versa, make SIL OSF from a GPL font.
So, in theory, it is enough to enclose the README font file and the license text with the font file.
