Can I pour WD-40 on the Home button with TouchID?

The Home button on 5S is poorly pressed (it only responds to pressing if you click on its lower edge)
I read about fixing it with WD-40, studied everything, but there was one moment: there is not a single article / video about iPhone with TouchID anywhere. Either they test on fours, or on fives (without 'S')
And I don’t want to take risks without knowing the exact answer - all of a sudden TouchID will come up

The white spirit in the composition can damage the plastic, petroleum oils will make the button move more smoothly, carbon dioxide will evaporate .. But how will bad contact of the button be restored?
