Can I connect from an L2TP client to a PPTP server?

There is a device: Voip phone dlink dhp-150s and it has an L2TP client.
There is a router and there is no L2TP server on it, but there is a PPTP server.
Question: Is it possible to connect voip-phone to the router via l2tp client? (I heard they are somehow compatible)
The sentences "put a router, hook it through the tunnel and a phone to it" are not relevant.

pptp and l2tp are different protocols. They are not compatible with each other, although they perform the same functions.
