Can an introvert-sociophobe work as a layout designer in the office?

They write that the job of a layout designer is ideal for introverts, you have to sit, print the same thing, but you also need to be a team player, proactive, sociable, cheerful. If I am an introverted sociophobe, should I change?

I don't like lifting weights, but I can. I don't like writing tests, but I do. I was not interested in the textbook on taxation, but I read it. I am an introvert and a misanthrope, but this did not stop me from growing to the position of CIO, 13 years of managing people and doing it well. Character traits are not a sentence, and not even always an obstacle. Even autistic people manage to integrate into society. You just need to do what leads you to success. Or admit to yourself that you are a weak-willed whiner and your destiny is vegetation.

  1. the profession of a layout designer as a separate unit in the office has practically died. individual organizations keep them and there is a competition of several hundred for one
  2. In any job in IT there is a huge amount of communication. both in the office and remotely
  3. proactivity is a plus, and without it you can’t grow further
  4. no one is forcing anyone to be funny. but on such people they just plow to the last

In IT, what is important is not what you described above, but soft skills are the ability to find a common language with your colleagues / customers, adequately perceive information, make normal contact. Proactivity is not about organizing pizza Fridays and being friends with everyone on Facebook, but the ability to get your point across, the ability to talk about a problem and find its correct technical solution, and not sit hiding behind a monitor.
In any case, you will communicate - at least with your product, with the designer, with backenders, with other front-end colleagues. You can't get away from this.
Introversion is not about the fact that it is difficult to communicate with people. This is a combination of physiology (mediator system of the central nervous system) and education / skills. Physiologically, introverts are better at processing information, introverts are better at focusing on internal thought processes and have a harder time processing the incoming flow of information through neuro-receptor systems. This does not prevent you from fully communicating with people, making new social connections and maintaining existing ones. You can read more in the book "The Advantages of Introverts", for example. And with the fear of people, you need to work with a psychologist.
And, many will disagree with me, but front-end and layout in particular is one of those areas in IT where you need to be attentive and empathetic to people, because the end user of your product is real users, and you need to have at least basic knowledge about human psychology and behavior. Not all questions about user behavior can be solved by designers. Therefore, social phobia, perhaps, sooner or later will simply prevent you from doing your job efficiently.)
In addition, I will give an example from my own experience - I am a terry introvert and a sociophobe (clinical diagnosis). She worked both in a large corporation and in small, almost atomic, teams. The methods of cognitive-behavioral therapy in adolescence and later helped a lot - the correct selection of a place of work and potential colleagues. If the business processes in the company are built correctly, if your colleagues are adequate people who have an understanding of what personal boundaries are, then no one will get to the bottom of you every five minutes. In open spaces, noise-canceling headphones save you from noise and overload, and lunches alone, when you can calmly stick to your phone and take a walk down the street. But in order to be able to choose a normal place of work, it is desirable to have not only the skills of bare layout.)

and accuracy too

the biggest joke of our time lies in the assertion that for social phobes, work in IT is ideal;
this is not so at all
for a social phobe; the work of a delivery driver
in IT is ideal; you need to constantly communicate with someone and sit for 8-9 hours together with other people side-o- side
