Can a ramdisk run at memory speed?

Judging by the AIDA64 tests, modern processors can have a memory bandwidth of more than 40Gb / s. At least theoretically, is it possible to write and read to a ramdisk at the same speed? And if not, what is the maximum speed of a ramdisk theoretically possible?

It really depends on the operating system - how many extra levels of abstraction are stuffed there.
